If there’s one thing that 21-year-old Kenyan freelancer Milanoi Kaelo Lenaiyasa could add to Africa’s video entertainment industry, it would be more documentaries about the continent, which she believes plays an important role in passing knowledge about Africa to the world.
“The fact that as a continent we have amazing stories that we can tell just inspires me to want to write more about them,” says Lenaiyasa.
As part of the Class of 2019, she hopes that her tenure at the MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy will give her the opportunity to network with more people from the film industry and an even deeper understanding of how it works.
Lenaiyasa’s favourite African film stars are Kenyans Brian Ogola and Riziki Ambrose, and her favourite films include Me Before You and The Lion King. Her favourite TV shows are Euphoria, Game of Thrones and MTV shuga. Alongside film and TV, Lenaiyasa is also passionate about psychology.
