Luanda-based emerging filmmaker Adriano Vunda Dizongo has been passionate about cinema from an early age.
“This made me want to become a filmmaker to contribute toward the development of the quality of African films,” says the 23-year-old, who believes that the future of the film industry is in the hands of Africa’s youth. “As young vibrant producers, we have the capacity to elevate our industry to different heights,” he says. As Adriano gears up to enter the MTF programme, he believes the experience gained at the academy will afford him the chance to strengthen his talents and knowledge about the African film industry, as well as one day pay it forward to young filmmakers.
“This will give me the opportunity to show my capacity to tell real African stories through the medium of TV series and telenovelas, which I hope to inspire people with.”
