Olaiya Oluwaseyi Modupeola is a 22-year-old Nigerian writer on a mission to fulfil his dreams of becoming a screenwriter and producer. For the Ogun-born creative, the best thing about Africa is its rich cultural heritage and diversity.
“The continent is blessed with super talented youths who are goal getters and passion driven. The fact that the continent also offers breath-taking tourist attractions makes it unique,” says Modupeola, who holds a BSc in Mass communication from Lagos State University in Nigeria.
As a member of the MultiChoice Talent Factory Academy’s Class of 2019, Modupeola is eager to learn all that he can regarding film production and use these skills to produce his own films.
It’s no surprise then that the African creative that he looks up to the most is Nigerian filmmaker Tunde Kelani, whose unique take on narration is something that Modupeola is eager to emulate as part of his contribution to Africa’s creative film and TV industry. Modupeola is also passionate about uplifting and empowering the poor and vulnerable in his community.
