Mbulelo King Somyali, a son of many communities across the Eastern Cape and a product of the lessons from their people. Now a recent graduate, perusing knowledge of self and exploring the bridges that hold our society together through the art of filmmaking.
Like any movie, this adventure started with a life changing experience that led to a below knee amputation at the age of 16. Realizing that the credits could roll at any point in time. Mbulelo pursued life for the adventure it is. Dedicating himself to exploring the limits through sports and academia. Earning a degree in filmmaking. While training consistently until becoming a record holding South African power-lifter, and the story continues.
Driven by the belief that art is a learning process. “This is especially true in film and television, because it gives one a chance to venture into a number of disciplines and opens up different avenues of research with every project one may come across. From business, to philosophy, history and all the way to science and engineering. Most importantly it deals with people, the things that capture people’s minds and how to approach different markets.”
