I am Nomvuselelo Dlamini a Wits Film & TV graduate. I majored in directing, documentary making, media studies, studio production, screenwriting, cinematography, sound design and art management. I knew I was a storyteller when I was 13 years old. I enjoyed writing creative essays in English and I made the decision that I want to be a screenplay writer/director. When I got to film school I discovered that there are more roles in telling a story besides writing and directing. Amongst these roles the producing role stood out for me and I got hooked on it.
I, Samkelo Mqadi am a Film/Theatre director from KwaZulu Natal, Durban Phoenix. I studied Drama and Theatre studies in the University of Zululand (oNgoye) and now a Magic in Motion intern, creating Films and memories every day.
When I get to a new environment, I always task myself to learn from the people who are experienced in that environment and at often I observe a lot and develop new ideas. I love to see change, I strongly believe that the old is the enemy of change. When I direct, I direct to prove that I’m the best director and then let the story tell itself.
My name is Maya-Angelou Buys, and no I am not a poet of any sort, but I would love to say that I am a storyteller. I tell stories, using both the visual and audio aspect of things, I call myself a puzzle expert, but the term we all familiar with is an editor. I have always enjoyed art in its many different forms, I once had a dream of becoming a great theater actor but now I find myself so indulged by everything technical in the television and film industry, that it is the one thing that keeps me up all night.

The above six-word story speaks to my value as young, black creative writer-director, but mostly as an artist. What separates me from others is not experience, and its resulting awareness/growth, but rather what I do with it. As a writer-director, I’m passionate about stories untold from perspectives unseen as storytelling is as much about entertainment, as it is about representation. In achieving this, I am an ambitious, risk-taking, lover of research-meets-execution in creative approach.
My name is Nelisiwe Xulu and I am 23 years of age and I am the last child of three girls. I was born and raised in Johannesburg in the historical place called Meadowlands.
My upbringing was what instilled the love of storytelling in me. Having growing up with a mom who was overseas due to work in order for my siblings and I to live a very comfortable life In Soweto and a father who played a mother figure in the house but a very business minded man in the streets moulded me into the person I am right now.
