Sentamu Phillip Lutakome a.k.a Dunamis is an amateur filmmaker with a passion to disrupt the global market with African content. For many years Africa as a whole has primarily fed on stories that have not been told by its own people, not created by them and neither relatable to them.

With the knowledge that he acquires at the Academy, Phillip looks forward to creating, publishing and distributing content to educate, empower and uplift the African creative industry. His dream is to be able to own the biggest filming space in Africa and the world that will upscale the production quality of content creation and amount of content released on the continent.  Phillip also aspires to build the most reputable Film School in Africa and the World that will be responsible for the circulating at least 70% of the content from the local market.

The opportunity to be at MTF comes at an absolute point in time and is a chance for Phillip to start on the pact of redeeming the picture of the black man and woman and set them on a world stage now and in generations to come. Being at MTF is the start that he has been looking forward to to gear steadily towards this vision. Phillip now believes that nothing is impossible. ‘The narrative for the African filmmaker is about to change and I AM going to be the one to change it,’ – he says.
