Victor Kasanga is deeply fascinated by music, teaching and as a devout Christian, the body of Christ.

In fact, the 24-year-old audio engineer from Lusaka would love to combine all these aspects in one creative career.

“I don’t actually have a name for this yet, but I know I want to help creatives and organisations in the body of Christ to execute their vision, tell their story and create content by producing audio and video productions that dig deeper into their purpose and help them live fulfilled and fruitful lives in Christ Jesus,” Victor explains.

He believes his time at the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) Academy will help him make this dream a reality, as well as add his voice to the importance of the business side of filmmaking.

“I hope to become an intentional storyteller, who is able to take an idea and communicate it through different forms of media. I also hope to become a better team player and a better communicator. I believe all this, and more, is what my MTF experience will deliver. I’m also interested in gaining a solid understanding of the business side of film, as I would personally like to see the distribution of African productions improve. And of course I look forward to meeting and networking with like-minded people across the world through MTF,” Victor says.

He is inspired by African stars Joseph Wairimu, Osita Iheme Leleti Khumalo and Djimon Hounsou, and rates the people as the best thing about the African continent.

“Africa’s people are children of the soil. So rich in culture, history, kindness and creativity,” Victor says. “In Africa, there are so many stories that could impact the world that remain untold, a history so vast and deep that it could change the trajectory of the story of our continent and the world at large through the ages. There is really a lot of untapped potential waiting for a light to be shone on it, and I love that MultiChoice has committed to leading this front!”
