Born in Botswana and based in Lilongwe, 21-year-old Mphatso Makamo aims to become “a triple threat” in the industry, by developing her skills in acting, directing and screenwriting.
When asked what she thinks she can give to Africa’s film and TV industries, Mphatso, who has a degree in liberal arts, says, “My creativity and willingness to push the envelope and try new things is crucial.” Inspired by filmmakers and actors such as Connie Ferguson, Mfundi Vundla and Presley Chweneyagae, Mphatso is excited to reach their level of success and hopes to do this by gaining experience, knowledge and exposure while being at MTF.
