Mpilonhle Blessing Makhaye, a 23-year-old originally from eNanda in KwaZulu-Natal Durban holds a National Diploma in Drama and Production studies from the Durban University of Technology. My passion for storytelling comes from a theatre background. I deeply believe that through filmmaking we have the power to create authentic stories that resonates with South Africans and the rest of the world. In the near future, I would like to be a professional scriptwriter, Gaffer and Director. My biggest aim in being part of the academy is to absorb more on the technical side. I am motivated by individuals who believe it doesn’t matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. I believe in positive thinking and being courageous because whatever I put my mind into, it will turn into something positive. I saw being part of MiM as a great doorway into the film industry. I am a lover of poetry and South African trap music. My favourite series must be eHostela, Into the Badlands and What happens in the Shadows.
