I am Nomvuselelo Dlamini a Wits Film & TV graduate. I majored in directing, documentary making, media studies, studio production, screenwriting, cinematography, sound design and art management. I knew I was a storyteller when I was 13 years old. I enjoyed writing creative essays in English and I made the decision that I want to be a screenplay writer/director. When I got to film school I discovered that there are more roles in telling a story besides writing and directing. Amongst these roles the producing role stood out for me and I got hooked on it. However at producing isn’t a module at my filmschool so this propelled me to try and find the relevant skills and information with part time production assistant jobs I could find. The more I found out about producing the more I fell in love with the craft. My dream is to be the most sought out for producer this continent has ever seen and I believe that I still have an immense amount to learn about producing and the Magic in Motion internship is the opportunity for me to do so. I enjoy keeping my pulse on the local film & tv industry, and I do this by trying to go watch as many local cinema releases as possible. I also enjoy reading scripts and mentally breakdown in a manner I think the producer might have broken it down to achieve the final product. Producing is my 1st love, but I am extremely excited that the Magic in Motion internship will not only expose me to producing but to other aspects in film and television making which will make me a seasoned film and television practitioner. I aim to not only learn from the internship but to also contribute to Mnet’s legacy through the filmmaking we will be tasked to do.
